The Junior Kindergarten program provides the same developmentally appropriate opportunities as our traditional 4s classes.  Children in both classes explore independent centers and enjoy whole groups lessons based upon weekly themes.  The JK class meets for an additional 2 hours, which allows for more instructional time in a small group setting to focus on kindergarten readiness.  Placement in the JK class is reserved for those students who have already completed their 4s year and would benefit from an additional year before entering kindergarten.  As space allows, we encourage placement of older 4s in the JK class when it is a good fit both academically and socially.
